The Fallen had a medium sized active guild on the Azsune server on the horde team (in fact the guild is "The Fallen Horde"). My character is the orc shaman "Warspite". However I think the guild is mostly in hibernation until the upcomming expansion, scheduled for September, afaik.

It's a non-pvp (player versus player) server meaning you can explore anywhere safely - although there are excellent battlegrounds and one or two other pvp activated areas.

A couple of advantages of non-pvp servers: There seems to be a slightly more mature player base than on on pvp servers, and ganking isn't a problem (being killed). However, do be aware there are generally more kids on World of Warcraft, and like anywhere else, some are fine while some are a right pain. Another advantage is you can go off exploring without a decent sized group.

The pros of a pvp server are the constant adrenaline of being caught and killed by the alliance team, as well as killing them of course.

All in all it's a terrific game, well rounded, very highly polished and with bags more content than D&D Online. It's very funny in places too. You can also solo effectively and log on for just 30 minutes to get something done.

However, the graphics are slightly cartoony (though I do like them), and I still much prefer the gaming system in D&D Online.

If enough of you are interested, and want that kind of server, give it a try and see if there are any officers online. Since I doubt there will be until the expansion, I could reactivate my account and promote one or two of the current D&D officers.

You couldn't transfer characters between pvp and non-pvp servers when I played, but things may have changed. Sometimes, when a server got too full there was a limited window for people to change between the same type of server though.
